The Friends of the Thomas Beaver Free Library invites anyone who loves books or libraries to join them in their support of the library by becoming a member of the Friends group! Monthly meetings are held on the third Thursday at 6:30 PM at the library.

The next meeting of the Friends is on Thursday, October 16, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the library.  Please get involved!

 

Renewal

It is time to renew your annual membership to the Friends of the Thomas Beaver Free Library.  See the form on this page for how to accomplish the renewal or stop by the library with your dues.  More importantly the Friends need members who can help with planning, organizing, and working at events to help raise funds for the items the Library needs but cannot afford without the Friends support.  Even if you can only spare a few hours during the year that help is desperately needed.   If you can't make the meetings, contact the library for upcoming Friends' events in which you may be able to become involved.

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Friends of the Thomas Beaver Free Library is to develop
community awareness of library resources, support library programs and
respond to the many needs of the library to the best of the group's ability

Activities have Included:

Purchasing Books-on-Tape for the library collection.

Providing a refrigerator in the Community Room and new mini-blinds for the library.

Contributing to the building fund.

Purchasing a projector screen and a disc cleaner.

Generously donating for the purchase of books for the children's' reading programs.

Sponsoring a Pool and Pizza Party, for children in the Summer Reading program, giving each participant a book of their choice and a staff and volunteer recognition dinner.

Fundraising efforts including a used Book Sale and ongoing sale of Library Book Bags.
